Traditional Danish Christmas Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup butter

2 cup sugar

2 eggs

2 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon cardamom

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees

2 Mix together the butter and suger to a smooth paste in a bowl

3. Beat in the eggs. One at the time - stirring until light and fluffy

4. Mix the flour, cardamom and cinnamon. Stir the sugar mixture into the flour just until blended

5. separate the dough into 6 balls

6. Roll each ball into a rope about as big around as your finger on a lightly floured surface

7. Cut into 1/2-inch pieces and place them on an ungreased baking sheet

8. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly browned

9. Cool the cookies on baking sheets for a few minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely
